Labradoodles, Laberbernese or Labrahuhua: the hot new designer trend in dogs is mixing Labrador retrievers with all variety of breeds. Here in Homer we're not so fussy: we call a Labrador retriever mix by its good old fashioned name -- mutt.

A litter of three girls and a boy has shown up at the Animal Shelter. These beautiful puppies have a little Lab and maybe a little husky, but they're 100-percent adorable. The 7-week-old dogs are ready to go home, and have been wormed and have all their shots.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
