The reserve's float won the $500 top prize in the nonprofit category. Boy Scout Troop 555 won the $200 first prize in the open category. The judges' choice awards went to the Girl Scouts, $100 for first place, and Trail's End -- East End Road men, $50 for second place. Otter Beach Educational Center won the individual prize of AT&T calling cards, while the Homer Brewing Company float won honorable mention.

Eighteen organizations entered floats in the parade, which was marshaled by Darryl Oliver.

In the fifth annual Tin Man Contest, hosted by Duggan's Waterfront Pub, the team of Mike Zelinski and Russ Newberry bowled, golfed, hooped, darted, pooled, basketballed and hockeyed their way to the 2003 title.

On Sunday, the pair posted a record score in the golf event, earning 21 points for their efforts. Zelinsky and Newberry also won the hockey event.

John and Gene Rich took second and the team of Scott Connelly and Melissa Jacobsen placed third. Eleven teams participated.

In the brew contest, Lawrence Livingston and Q. Deck's pale ale won best of show.
