Artist offers more arts classes
Homer artist Gail Baker offers several classes for children at her Backdoor Studio underneath Bunnell Street Gallery. Upcoming classes include “Art Sampler,” for children grades kindergarten through second, meeting 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 28-April 4; and “Potpourri,” for children in third through sixth grades, meeting 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, March 1-April 5. ‘Guys and Dolls’ is March 9-10
The Homer High School choir’s spring musical production, “Guys and Dolls,” plays March 9-10 at the Mariner Theatre. The Broadway hit — featuring such classics as “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat” — is based on the stories of Damon Runyon with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. High school choir members play all the roles, with music by the high school band students and the Kenai Peninsula Orchestra. One show is performed March 9 and two shows on March 10, with a possible Sunday matinee on March 11.
