Family Winter Ecology Camps will be held Feb. 26-27, March 12-13 and April 2-3, where participants will learn about winter recreation and survival. Cost is $100 per adult, $85 per child and includes food, lodging, instruction and use of snowshoes for the weekend.
CACS offers a volunteer internship program for high school students who wish to gain experience working in the fields of environmental education and environmental science. The internship combines working at the Carl Wynn Nature Center and the Homer Spit Yurt assisting with Creature of the Dock Tours. Interns also are trained to be camp counselors for summer camps for youth ages 9-15. Interns are encouraged to work on a special project of interest during their six-week internship.
Applicants must have completed one year of high school. Applications will be accepted through March 15. For more information, call 235-5557.
