Colony jumped out to an early 13-7 first quarter lead before the Mariners rallied in the second to cut the lead to 23-20 at halftime.
Homer freshman Allison Horazdovsky scored at the beginning of the third quarter to cut the lead to one.
But Colony's Keley Joynt hit her third and fourth three-pointer of the game in the third quarter as Colony built a 40-34 lead going into quarter four.
After another Horazdovsky bucket, the Knights went on a 12-2 run in the fourth quarter including seven made free throws to take a 53-38 lead and eventually the 53-43 victory.
Joynt led all scorers with 19 points for Colony, while Horazdovsky led a balanced attack for Homer with 15.
Against Palmer on Saturday, the Mariners started out flat and fell behind by five after one quarter, 14 by half and 23 points with two-and-a-half minutes remaining in the game.
At that time, the score was 51-28 Palmer, and the Mariners had scored only three points in the quarter.
Horazdovsky ended the dry spell, however, with a bucket that seemed to spark the Homer squad.
Claire Siekaniec hit two free throws and Kailee Pollack connected on a three-pointer to cut the lead to 51-35.
The Mariners picked up the pressure defensively as Horazdovsky scored again followed by a free throw and a block by Kyenna McKinstry.
Palmer, now having trouble breaking the Mariner full court press, committed a pair of turnovers that led to buckets by Horazdovsky and McKinstry.
And all of a sudden the lead was cut to nine points, 51-42.
Unfortunately for the Mariners, time quickly was running out.
Pollack and Siekaniec hit four free throws to cap an 18-0 run to end the game, but Palmer's lead proved too large to overcome, and the Moose escaped with a 51-46 win.
Leslie Berberich paced Palmer with 15 points, while Horazdovsky had 15 points for Homer and Pollack added 10.
The Mariners face Skyview Friday and conclude the season with games against Soldotna, Kenai and a pair against Kodiak before the conference tournament begins March 17.
The Mariners 6-4 record in the conference currently places them in fourth-place behind Wasilla, Soldotna and Colony. The top three teams coming out of the conference tournament will advance to state.
