General needs: fundraising, public relations, education, membership, volunteer facilities maintenance, newsletter, Wynn Nature Center and Peterson Bay Field Station
Specifically at this time: Some help with trimming the alders and clean up and beautification of the grounds at the headquarters building on Smokey Bay Way. This can be done any day, any time. Also, there will be a spring work party to Peterson Bay Field Station on March 27. This will be an all-day activity cleaning up/setting up the Field Station for the season. Boat transportation provided.
No matter what your interests and abilities are, we need you.

Homer Chamber of Commerce
Needs volunteers in many categories: those willing to work in the visitor center a few hours a week by answering phone calls, questions and greeting visitors; those interested in doing computer work from home; those interested in doing landscaping and maintenance; those interested in stuffing envelopes, sorting items, filing, etc.; those interested in assisting with the general operation of events such as Shorebird Festival, cleanup day, Winter King Tournament, etc.; those interested in participating in committees such as Winter Carnival committee, marketing, etc.

Hospice of Homer
Needs volunteer visitors and phone friends to visit with frail and isolated individuals. 22-hour training begins March 5. Commitment: 2-4 hours per week.
Also needs administrative assistant/receptionist to do general office/computer work and oversee the equipment loan program. Commitment: 6-12 hours per week.

Kachemak Bay shorebird festival
Needs volunteers for all areas of the festival weekend (May 6-9). Those with birding skills are welcome, but birding skills are not required.
