Chapman, Homer wrestlers claim the mat

Thanks to some last minute fundraising, the Mighty Eagles of Anchor Point's Chapman School made it to the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's wrestling tournament over the weekend. And they did the school proud. Samuel Mireles was crowned champion at 125 pounds. Calvin Johnson took second place at 85 pounds and Martin Molodih took second at 168 pounds. An estimated 100 wrestlers participated, according to Coach Camron Wyatt, who had high praise for Chapman's 12 wrestlers. "It was amazing to see them come together, work hard and go out there and compete and feel good about themselves," Wyatt said.
