Online Alaska photo site launched
Due to demand from consumers to purchase prints from its collection of more than 250,000 photos, Alaska Stock Images has launched a Web site catering to the general public offering wall-dEcor photos from 26 professional photographers.
According to a company press release, the new site at www.AlaskanPhotos.com offers more than 300 Alaska photos in 22 categories for purchase as photo dEcor prints and gift items such as mouse pads, Christmas cards, wall calendars and coffee mugs.
"After finding these great photos on our commercial site, the average Joe would call to get a photo to put on his home or office wall. Since our main business is catering to the commercial photo buyer for advertisements and magazine articles, doing custom print orders gets a little spendy for the consumer," said photographer and company president Jeff Schultz. "Through this new site, we've partnered with a digital photo lab that keeps our scans on file and can make prints on demand, take payment and ship the order direct to the consumer at less than half the custom price."
Alaska Stock Images represents images from more than 100 photographers for commercial use in advertising, magazine articles and corporate uses.
Items for In Business can be dropped off at the Homer News at 3482 Landings Street, faxed to 235-4199 or e-mailed to news@homernews.com.
