Susan Arndt

Susan was born in Rice Lake, WI on September 28, 1953. She grew up in Coon Rapids, MN and headed up to Alaska in 1976. She has been a Homer resident since 1979. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last February and died peacefully in her home on Feb. 10, 2007. She is survived by her three children, one granddaughter, parents, two brothers and one sister.

Susan dedicated much of her life to Homer community service. She played an integral part in creating the OBGYN unit and Home Health unit at South Peninsula Hospital. She also co-founded Homer’s Family Planning Clinic. Apart from making Homer a better place, she loved planting a beautiful garden every year and spent any free time hiking, kayaking, traveling and recycling.

The family is collecting your memories and photos about Susan to document her life. She has touched many of us and we would like to capture those times in a memory book.
