“Helping Others” might also be a theme of this month’s art, with decorated ceiling tiles going on display at Captain’s Coffee, a fund-raiser for Hospice of Homer. The Max Haggerty Art Show continues at Ptarmigan Arts, part of an ongoing effort to raise money for Max’s double-lung transplant.

Picture Alaska has no formal artist reception, but features new work by James Buncak and new art glass, blown and hand sculptured by New Mexico artist Al Leedom.
Ptarmigan Arts
“Visions of the Winged World,” photography, painting and sculpture by Mossy Kilcher.

Mossy Kilcher’s show examines the beauty and spirit of local songbirds.
“My lifetime passion has always been to help make the bird visible through art, song and story,” Kilcher said.
The Max Haggerty Art Fund-raiser continues, with new works donated by local artists.
