The Greatlanders, an ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific, performs a free concert at 7 p.m. March 11 in the Mariner Theatre. A 15-piece jazz band, the Greatlanders play big band, contemporary jazz, classic rock 'n' roll, country and Broadway music. The Greatlanders have played throughout Alaska, Japan, Korea, the Yukon and British Columbia and at international music festivals. During its Homer visit, the Greatlanders also will perform concerts at Homer Middle School for its students and students from Fireweed Academy, McNeil Canyon Elementary School, Chapman School and Ninilchik School.
