Feb. 23

A woman at 12:42 p.m. reported theft of services from a Bunnell Avenue motel.

Police at 4:18 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers in making a domestic-violence assault arrest.

A man at 4:50 p.m. reported someone stole a used shop vacuum cleaner from in front of the Salvation Army.

Feb. 24

A man at 12:05 a.m. made a 911 call that he'd been assaulted. Police arrested a 22-year-old woman for assault and violating conditions of release.

A person at 3:57 p.m. reported someone shot a BB gun at a Pennock Street home. Police contacted the parents of a child to advise them of safe firearms handling.

A woman at 6:15 p.m. reported boots stolen from the pool locker room at the high school.

A woman at 9:40 p.m. reported her purse was stolen.

Feb. 25

Police at 1 p.m. helped the troopers with information about a stolen gun.

Police at 11:57 p.m. contacted a 42-year-old man driving on Smoky Bay Way and issued him a summons for driving in violation of limitation.

Feb. 26

Police at 2:36 a.m. cited a 19-year-old man for minor consuming alcohol.

A woman at 7:31 a.m. reported a man on the roof of her garage. Police responded.

A woman at 10:18 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on her Mattox Street neighbor. Police could not find the man. Police checked again at 1:33 p.m. and found the man, age 61, had died.

A woman at 2:54 p.m. reported the door to her Ben Walters Lane apartment had been kicked in.

A man at 4:40 p.m. reported seeing a young man driving a car who took a "bong hit" while stopped at a Pioneer Avenue and Sterling Highway intersection.

A woman at 4:44 p.m. made a 911 call reporting a 51-year-old woman found dead at a Ben Walters Lane home.

Feb. 27

A caller at 2:03 p.m. reported a driver backed into his wife's car at a Sterling Highway parking lot. Police responded and arrested a 48-year-old man for driving while license revoked, canceled or suspended.

A woman at 2:36 p.m. reported an expected death at a Main Street home of a 79-year-old man.

A woman at 4:25 p.m. brought in a blue duffel bag she found in the road.

A woman at 6:04 p.m. reported a boy shoplifting at a Lake Street business. The boy's parent was notified and a store official agreed to handle the incident internally.

A woman at 5:19 p.m. asked to speak to police about her daughter and another girl fighting at Homer Middle School.

A woman at 9:20 p.m. reported her boyfriend threatened to hurt himself. Police responded. The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation and then taken to the Homer Jail for protective custody.

Feb. 28

A woman at 1:35 p.m. reported her grandson stole money from her.

A woman at 10:09 p.m. reported vehicles making excessive noise on Beluga Lake.

March 1

A person at 1:02 p.m. made a 911 call of a drunk man passed out in the bathroom at a Pioneer Avenue address. EMTs and police responded and a 26-year-old man was taken into protective custody.

A woman at 5:28 p.m. reported a stray dog followed her boyfriend home. Police took the dog to the Animal Shelter.

March 1

A woman at 11 a.m. reported a theft from her home that happened in September 2008.

A woman at 6:30 p.m. reported two girls picking up a drunk and injured man near Mile 1.5 East End Road. Police responded but could not locate the man or the girls.
