The activity was part of an ongoing salmon-rearing project involving 50 sixth-, seventh- and eithth-graders in Michael Houghton's sicence classes.
Representatives from the state Department of Fish and Game and local 4-H Club participated. Students tied flies to match the development stages of salmon raised in the classroom.
