Kachemak Bay Equestrian Association announces the Fourth Annual Cowboy Cabaret. The fundraiser for Cottonwood Horse Park will be at 6 p.m. on April 2 at Alice's Champagne Palace and will include poetry readings, music and a silent auction. Limited reserved tables are available by calling Jackie at 235-0192. To sign up to read a poem, call Tim at 299-2780. Tickets are $25, available at the Homer Bookstore or at the door.

Homer's 18th annual Winter King Salmon Derby is March 19. There are new rule changes this year so check the tournament rules carefully. Registration forms are available online at www.homeralaska.org or by calling Paula at 235-7740.
