"Homer Helping Haiti' is seeking donations of air miles to bring 20 Haitian children to Homer for a few months of convalescence, rejuvenation and hope following the 7.0 earthquake that struck that country Jan. 12. Anyone able to commit air miles to this effort is asked to send a commitment from any airlines serving Alaska from the Lower 48 to milesforhaiti@gmail.com or call 235-7262. The Kachemak Emergency Service Area Board holds its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at the McNeil Canyon Fire Station located at 53048 Ashwood Ave., near Mile 12 East End Road. The meeting agenda is posted at the fire station and the Kenai Peninsula Borough Office at 206 E. Pioneer Ave.
