Artist enriches students' learning
Paul Banks Elementary School was blessed to have a fabulous performing artist spend two weeks working in our school. Eddie Wood weaved percussion, movement and storytelling into engaging and creative sessions with our kindergarten, first and second graders. More than 200 students benefited from his thoughtful and well-planned lessons.
The sessions with students were developmentally appropriate, creative and engaging. Our two weeks of practice culminated in a magnificent performance for parents and the public which showcased the children's work with Eddie.
We appreciate the opportunity to bring art activities into the classroom to supplement and enrich the year-long arts programs in place at our school.
Thank you to Bunnell Street Arts Center, Alaska State Council on the Arts, Rasmuson Foundation, ConocoPhillips and the Paul Banks PTA for their generous support and contributions to the artist in the schools program.
