Amanda Cooley looks for the next foot hold at Saturday's climbing competition at the Bay Club. Amanda was one of several climbers 12 and older who tested their skills against both the competition and the strenuous climbing routes marked out on the climbing wall at the Bay Club. The climbing competition was run jointly by the Homer Wilderness Leaders and the Bay Club with proceeds going to HoWL, which works to help educate young people around Homer about wilderness leadership and survival through spring and summer wilderness expeditions. Each of the top youth climbers at the climbing competition received HoWL Scholarships.
