Troopers at 8:35 p.m. went to a moose-car collision near Mile 161 Sterling Highway at Black Water Bend. Troopers said a 19-year-old Homer man driving north hit a moose on the Anchor River bridge, causing the moose to roll on top of the car and crushing its roof. The car then went into a southbound lane and hit a car driven by a Homer woman. Anchor Point Volunteer Fire Department EMTs responded and had to extricate the man from his car. He was treated and taken to South Peninsula Hospital. The man's car was totaled and the woman's car had $1,000 in damages. Both drivers wore seat belts. A charity salvaged the moose.

Troopers at 8:05 a.m. contacted a 32-year-old Ninilchik man at a Ninilchik business and arrested him for failure to appear at an arraignment on a charge of sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.
March 9
Alaska Wildlife Troopers at 1p.m. contacted a 37-year-old Anchorage man near Anchor Point and cited him for commercial fishing during a closed season and without registration.
