KBC is holding registration for a new special class in outdoor education to be held March 21-25 over spring break




“Skiing Alaska’s Backcountry” will be led by Anders Gustafson. Includes day skiing outings, various techniques, and instruction on evaluating avalanche hazards and other risks. Registration is now going on for upcoming classes. Classes starting soon include Boating Safety and Navigation; Customer Service Fundamentals, Lichens, MS Word, Quickbooks, Excel, Fly Fishing, First Aid-CPR, and more. Stop by the college to register. Check out the schedule on-line at www.homer.alaska.edu and at area locations. Registration for the Kachemak Bay Writers Conference has started at www.writersconference.homer.alaska.edu. KBC’s Student Association will hold an Open Mic at 7 p.m. March 30. Larry Cox, USA Director of Amnesty International, will be at KBC for films and a presentation at 6 p.m. April 1. KBC will hold a poetry slam on April 21.

Student Association’s Foreign Film Fridays are weekly, 7 p.m.
