A call for art has been extended to everyone touched by the war in Vietnam, and seeks creations in keeping with the mission of the Peace and Reconciliation Celebration to be held May 11 to 18. The call is open to all media and sizes. All work will be exhibited, will not be for sale and will be returned if postage is provided. Deadline for submission is May 1; name, address, phone number, title of piece, media and a brief description to be submitted with piece. This year's conference will be at Land's End Resort, June 10 through 14. Poet Laureate Billy Collins is the keynote presenter, and 20 other faculty members, including authors, editors, publishers and agents from in and out of state. The conference offers daily workshops, craft talks, "pitch a publisher" manuscript reviews, panel presentations and evening readings in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, the business of writing and more. A young writers pre-conference workshop for 10th- through 12th-grade students will be held with visiting author Jack Driscoll. Registration is $245 before May 12, $295 after May 12. Entry forms for two major craft events at the Anchorage Museum of History and Art are now available. Art Potpourri takes place June 15 through August 15, when artists, authors and crafts people make and sell their wares each day in the Museum's atrium. Deadline for receipt of entries is 6 p.m. March 31. Crafts Weekend at the Museum is held Thanksgiving weekend, November 25 through 27. The event offers artisans the opportunity to show and sell their work in the atrium. Deadline for entries is 6 p.m. May 12.
