Support upgrades trails equipment

The Kachemak Nordic Ski Club would like to thank the David and Mary Schroer advised fund at the Homer Foundation for the generous support provided for a project to upgrade the equipment used to groom Nordic ski trails in the Homer area. The money provided by this grant is being used to help fund the purchase of two additional grooming machines.

The ski trail system recently has undergone significant expansion with new trails at Lookout Mountain, a connector trail between Lookout Mountain and Baycrest and trail work at the McNeil/Eveline and Baycrest areas. These upgrades have led to the need for additional grooming equipment to help maintain the trails that provide the excellent skiing residents of Homer, as well as winter visitors, have come to expect.

The expanded trail system provides cross country skiing opportunities for all, from beginning skiers to experienced racers. We invite everyone to come out and experience the excellent groomed trails that our volunteers are able to provide with the help of the equipment obtained through projects such as this.
