Coach contribution prized
My husband and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Steve Smith, this year's Homer Mariners Boys Varsity Basketball coach. Coach Smith has taught our young men the true meaning of sportsmanship, perseverance, hard work, and dedication. Steve has not only given of his time, energy, and heart, he has donated back to our team the compensation he was paid for coaching our boys. Our son is a senior this year and is truly enjoying his last year with the varsity team, he will take with him very happy memories of his team and of his coach who he respects and admires. We sincerely hope that the young men of next year's team will have the opportunity to play under Coach Smith's leadership, he should be recognized for his selfless contribution to our boys. Go Mariners.
