To call a whole "community" evil because she feels that some might have crossed her line of acceptable conduct exhibits an immaturity and hate that just fuels such non-productive dogma. To paint the entire "Christian Community" with the broad brush of such hateful comments as "cesspools of sexual misconduct" is grossly intolerant of the behavior of hundreds of thousands of good Christians. Good Christians "speak out" boldly against inhumanity and evil....Good Christians sacrifice (rather, "invest") sweat, tears, blood, and riches to protect and provide for those who are oppressed and in need. Indeed, the foundation of our faith is the Supreme Sacrifice made by Jesus and by God who gave the life of His Son for us.
I would invite Ms. Allison to drop the hate and actually get to know some faithful Christians....there are many around here. To carry around such an oppressive burden is a certain road to a "cesspool" of failure and sadness, NOT what Christ wants for her or ANY of us on Earth! She could also discover that, (contrary to her statement that Christians believe that "female sexuality is shameful"), many of us actually believe that female and male sexuality was by God's design to "be fruitful and multiply. Some of us actually even believe that God's design includes (GASP!) pleasure between married men and women according to Scripture. In our faith, it is man's basic sin that perverts sexuality and turns it into an evil NOT taught nor condoned by Christ.
So PLEASE, Ms. Allison, learn more about the true faith of Christianity before casting us all in your "cesspool of sexual misconduct".....open the Bible and read the teachings of Jesus, enlighten yourself on what Christianity really is, as God intends it to be, not what you assume it to be, nor what some "Christian posers" might have shown you. With an open mind and heart, you'll find a whole different world than the one you painted for the readers of your letter.....indeed, with an open heart and mind, you won't find the perversion of man that filters your view of Christians, but you can find the Love of God.
