Accompanied by coach Scott Pegau, the Homer team of Joleena Baugh, Kirsten Baltz, Chris Ellington, Monica Peters, and Nat Seaman competed against 13 other teams from schools across the state to determine who knows the most about the ocean and its connection to Alaskan issues. The competition featured a rapid-fire question-and-answer ocean knowledge quiz, along with presentations of research projects. Homer's team finished fifth in the quiz bowl and tied for eighth overall.
