Sam has recently gone from scrapping with territorial neighborhood cats to eating three squares a day, and animal shelter correspondents say he is thrilled with recent changes in his life. All he needs now is the love of a family to toss those blues out the window for good.
Meet Sad Sam and his good friend Rep. Paul Seaton at the shelter's open house at 5 p.m. Friday.
If you'd like to adopt a pet, stop by the Animal Shelter across from Public Works on the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open seven days a week, 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. For more information, call 235-3141.
If "Sad Sam" had his way and opposable thumbs he'd be belting out his blues at the piano, putting to music his displeasure at being one of those cats who is "handsome on the inside." The best he can do, though, is to show people how much he loves being petted.
