Alexe Heddiger grappled to a first place victory last weekend at the Soldotna Whalers Tournament for Popeye wrestlers. Brenden Frazier, Jedi Martineze, Mitch Whythe, Tyler Garric, and Miles Catlin took second. John Bowman, Chris Whatree, Cory Johnson and Adea Garric took third. Ryan Cotney and Eathan Parker took fourth.
Fishing Fair on tap
The 15th Annual Youth Fishing Fair will be held on Saturday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Homer Middle School. Admission is free. For more information call 235-7427.
Kayak Fest gearing up
The 2004 Kachemak Kayak Fest is gearing up for spring and is looking for a few good sponsors. The third annual Fest will be held May 28 through June 6 and the deadline to become involved in the growing event is April 2.
