There is a definite mood change in the air. It seems everyone is filling up with smiles and laughter with all this wonderful warm, sunshiny weather we have been having. Even those large, four-legged creatures are out and about. For the last few weeks, I have counted at least 11 moose a day on my way to work. Just a reminder, don’t forget to spring ahead and turn those clocks forward either Saturday before you go to bed or Sunday morning. Did you hear gas prices are going down? OK, so here is where I say, “April Fools!”

Anchor Point Senior Center

Tonight’s dinner is barbecue pork and chicken. Dinner cost for members is $5 and for nonmembers, it is $7. There still are plenty of raffle tickets left for those two beautiful quilts. They are on display at the center. Tickets are on sale for $2 or 3 for $5. These tickets can be purchased from one of the senior members or at the center.

CERT

The Community Emergency Response Team is trying to finish up classes and move on to Fire Corps training. At 7 tonight at the senior center, the CERT training will be Unit 7 — Disaster Psychology. At 10 a.m. Saturday at the senior center, the training will be Unit 5 — Light Search and Rescue. Those participating should wear good boots. Anyone wanting to refresh their knowledge is welcome and should bring their CERT gear. There are still some fire extinguishers for those who missed the fire suppression portion and would like to catch up or refresh. Call me or catch Joe Kent at the fire hall. 

VFW Post 10221

Steak night is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. There will be a “Fools Ball,” following the dinner. There will be prizes given away for best dressed, best dressed fool, best homemade hat and best homemade footwear.

Monday night is $1 taco night. Friday night pool night starts at 8 p.m. Members and guests are welcome.
