An open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony officially welcomes South Peninsula Hospital's new MRI, magnetic resonance imaging equipment, from 4-7 p.m. April 6. The new Seimen's MRI offers advanced, state of the art technology. Its design allows for many studies to be completed with the patient's head outside of the bore. SPH is one of the first locations on the West Coast of the United States to utilize this advanced technology, according to Derotha Ferraro, SPH public affairs. It is anticipated the MRI will be available for patient use during the first week of April. Refreshments and give-aways will be included in the open house and ribbon-cutting. The event takes place in the SPH Imaging Department on the upper level of the hospital near the main entrance. Attendees are encouraged to park in the lower level parking, use the Bartlett Street entrance, take the elevators up to the main level and follow the signs.
