Two-vehicle wreck ties up Sterling Highway

Firefighters from Homer and Anchor Point converged Tuesday on the scene of a two-vehicle accident on the Sterling Highway about one mile north of Diamond Ridge Road. One of the vehicles, a small pickup truck, caught fire and was completely engulfed in flames before firefighters were able to put it out.

Traffic, which had backed up for more than a mile in either direction as emergency personnel cleared the roadway, resumed at about 3:30 p.m.
