Sea to Ski on tap
The Ironmen and women of Homer will compete this Sunday in the Sea to Ski Triathlon beginning at Mariner Park at 1 p.m. The run, bike and ski event begins with a three mile jog from the Gazebo at the base of the spit to West Homer Elementary School, followed by a four mile bike ride up West Hill to the Roger's Loop Trail head, and then a three mile cross country ski to the Sterling Highway trail head. There will be two team categories for students, separating middle school and high school, three adult categories; young adults to age 29, adults 30-49, and incredible adults; 50 and over. There are also two open categories for same gender/mixed age group and for a mixed gender team.

There are also Ironman and Ironwoman categories for individuals in the various age groups that complete the entire course by themselves.

Participants need to register at the Gazebo at the base of the Spit at Mariner Park. Registration is $5 from 10 a.m. until noon, and $10 from noon until the required race meeting at 12:30 p.m. Helmets are required for bikers.
