Homer Fire

March 23-29

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians went to 10 medical calls and two fire calls.

March 27

Firefighters went to an activated carbon monoxide detector at an Ocean Drive apartment building and found a level of 60 parts-per-million. Firefighters determined a faulty oil stove in a downstairs shop caused the problem. The stove was shut down and CO levels returned to zero after the building was aired out. No one was injured.

March 28

Firefighters went to a truck fire at a Sterling Highway business. Firefighters found fire coming from under a work truck and put out the fire. The fire was determined to have come from a faulty electrical system.
