The SPH Auxiliary invites people to volunteer in the gift shop or in its new garden area. SPHA welcomes new members and volunteers. It supports the hospital through equipment purchases, decorating patient rooms, the annual Health Fair, support for the Long Term Care Unit and, new for this summer, a garden area. SPH offers Caring for Elders with Diabetes, a 90-minute seminar for care givers of elders with diabetes, at 6 p.m. April 16 in the hospital's Education Conference Room at 451 Sterling Highway, Suite #2. The program will provide an overview of helping elders maintain good blood sugar control to help them feel better, maintain optimum health and prevent the complications of diabetes. The guest presenter is Linda Wagner, BSN, PHN, a home health nurse working on her master's degree in Education. Call 235-0258.
