Richard A. Rutan




March 24, 1946-March 29, 2009

Richard Alan Rutan (Rick), 63, a long time resident of Anchor Point, died at his home on March 29, 2009 of lung cancer.

Richard was born on March 24, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, graduated from high school in Burbank, CA and was in the U. S. Navy twelve years; until honorably discharged in Bremerton, Wash., in 1981. He then followed his dream of moving to Alaska. Rick was well known in the Homer business community as owner and operator of R&R Refrigeration. He is also well known for his love of adventure and travel. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends who loved him.

Richard is preceded in death by his son Glenn Rutan, and father Robert Wilton Rutan.

He is survived by his son Robert William Rutan, mother Evonne Rutan, sisters: Judith Marriott, Robin Rutan, Marcia Rutan, Laurel Tulipano and brother Donald Rutan. Richard also has 4 grandchildren.
