This year, Old Believer, Orthodox and Western Easter observances fall on the same day, April 8. Most churches hold their regular Sunday services. You also are invited to worship and celebrate at these events.

All churches: Friday, noon, Walk of the Cross, from Salvation Army to Homer United Methodist Church.

All Saints of America Antiochian Orthodox Mission: Thursday, 9 a.m., Divine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great, foot washing service; 6 p.m., Twelve Passion Gospels; Friday, 3 p.m., Vespers service; 6 p.m. Lamentations; Saturday, 10 a.m., Di.vine Liturgy of St. Basil the Great; 11:30 p.m.-2:30 a.m., Easter service; Sunday, 3 p.m., Vespers service.

Faith Lutheran Church: Friday, 7 p.m., Tenebrae service; Saturday, 7 p.m., worship; Sunday, 7 a.m., sunrise worship; 8:30 a.m., Easter breakfast; 10:30 a.m., Easter service.

Homer Independent Baptist Church: Sunday, Easter service, followed by brunch.

Homer United Methodist Church: Friday, 7 p.m., Tenebrae service; Sunday, 11 a.m., Easter service.

Religious Society of Friends (Quakers): Sunday, 10:30 a.m. at Homer Flex High School, singing and silent worship, followed by potluck and Easter egg hunt. There is a children’s program at all meetings.

Salvation Army Center of Worship and Service: Sunday, 10 a.m., Sunday school and adult Bible study; 11 a.m., Easter service; 1 p.m. community lunch. There will be a family Easter celebration, with an egg hunt for kids 5 years and younger, a game and craft time for kids 6-12 years, and a free bag of goodies for everyone. Everyone is welcome; come as you are.

St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church: Saturday, 6 p.m., Easter vigil. There will be no 2 p.m. service.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church: Thursday, 7 p.m., Holy Thursday Liturgy; adoration of the blessed sacrament until midnight; Friday, noon, Walk of the Cross; 3 p.m., Stations of the Cross; 7 p.m., Solemn Liturgical Service; Saturday, 9:30 p.m., Easter vigil; Sunday, 11:30 a.m., Mass.
