Districtwide

Through Friday: Standards Based Assessment testing (grades 3-9) and High School Graduation Qualifying Exams (grade 10).



 
 
Chapman Elementary School

April 19: Community Drug Awareness meeting in the gym, 7 p.m. Speakers include Dr. Charles Burgess, Steven Kiefer, Lilly Ohse, Trooper Travis Bordner, Tess Dally and Janet Mullen. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn how drugs are impacting our community. For more information, call 235-8961 after 5 p.m.

Fireweed Academy

First and third Monday of the month: Academic Policy Committee, 3:30-5 p.m.

Through April 25: Circus residency with Coire and Taliesin.

Friday: Music workshop with Cherish Bee focusing on beatbox and a capella harmony.

April 23-27: Marionette puppetry residency with Buzz Oplex.

May 7: Community discussion regarding Fireweed Academy’s growth. In room 103 at West Homer Elementary, 7 p.m.

Homer Connections Program

April 18: Home school ice skating party

Enrollment for the 2007/2008 school year is now open.

Homer High School

All week: Prom tickets on sale at lunchtime; $35 per person, $70 per couple.

Today: Malston’s will be here at lunch time; have money ready. Girls’ basketball banquet in the commons, 7 p.m. PTA meeting in the library, 7 p.m.

Friday: Prom set-up and soccer, track, softball and baseball team photos in the Commons, all day.

Saturday: Prom in the Alice Witte Gymnasium, 8 p.m.

Kachemak Selo School

April 9-13: Spring break.

April 16-27: Dibels and CBM testing, kindergarten through third-grade.

April 25: Parent meeting, 3:30 p.m.

McNeil Canyon Elementary School

April 12: Parent group and community council meeting, 2:30 p.m.

April 19: Science fair.

April 25: Volunteer lunch, I Spy activity.

Nikolaevsk School

Friday: Awards ceremony.

Ninilchik School

Tuesday: Family night, 3:30-5 p.m.

Otter Beach Educational Center

Friday: Soul Soup fund-raiser with reader’s theater and singing at Two Sisters Bakery, 5-7 p.m.

April: Kids and parents interested in joining Otter Beach are invited to visit. To arrange a time, call 235-8628 or 235-6547.

Paul Banks Elementary School

April 10-12: Kindergarten and new student registration.

April 12: Spring pictures, PTA meeting.

April 16: Community-Wide Summer Programs Fair, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Learn about summer opportunities, including sports, outdoor education, music and more.

Ongoing: Paul Banks participates in General Mills Box Tops for Education. If you have any, please drop them off at the school.

Razdolna School

April 8-14: Spring break.

April 16-27: Dibels testing for kindergarteners.

Voznesenka School

Friday: Science field testing, grades 4, 8 and 10.

April 8-14: Spring break.

West Homer Elementary School

Second Monday of the month: Site council, conference room, 5 p.m.

Mondays/Wednesdays: Fifth- and sixth-grade girls’ basketball.
