Anchor Point Chamber of Commerce
Joe Kent with the Anchor Point Fire Department will speak about the Firewise program at the chamber’s noon luncheon April 12 at the Anchor River Inn. The chamber will hold a special meeting on the gravel pit ordinance at 7 p.m. April 13 at the senior center. A meeting on the community plan will be at 7:30 p.m. April 17 at the Anchor River Inn.
Anchor Point Senior Citizen Center
Tonight’s dinner will be beef tips and eggplant Parmesan with pasta, veggies and all the trimmings. Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. There will be a benefit on Saturday for Jerry Montgomery to help pay for his medical needs. This event will be a prime rib dinner. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the center. There will be two seatings, at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m. The center will have an all-you-can-eat Easter breakfast at 9 a.m. April 16. Cost is $5.
VFW
VFW meetings are on Sunday. All members are invited. The monthly fish fry will be from 4-6 p.m. April 30.
Community News
There has been a benefit account set up at Alaska USA Credit Union for Glenna Wells to help pay for medical expenses. Anyone who would like to make a contribution is asked to contact the Credit Union. There will be a benefit potluck for Glenna from 5-8 p.m. May 13 at Chapman School.
