In Brief - Seafood workers needed




The state of Alaska is recruiting for more than 1,400 seafood workers for Alaska’s 2006 commercial seafood season.

Major openings include 270 processing positions for the two-week Bristol Bay herring season in May with Yardarm Knot Fisheries, Togiak Fisheries, Pedersen Point and Baywatch. Additional processing jobs for work beginning in May and June include 50 positions at Westward Seafoods in Dutch Harbor and 20 openings with Norquest Seafoods on floating processors.
