She passed away at 6:20 p.m. in Stanwood, Washington with her husband, Pat Grady, and sister, Donna Wells Carver, at her bedside.
Glenna was born in 1954 in Camano, Washington. She graduated with honors from Camano High School in 1972. She moved to Alaska and worked with the Food Service Union 851, in Fairbanks hotels and the oil field camps at Prudhoe Bay. In the early 1980s she moved to the Anchor Point area, where she created her own small scale homestead, building a log home complete with large gardens and outbuildings. During this time she made a career change. She worked at Sundog Consultants for the next 13 years.
She went back to college at the University of Alaska Anchorage in Homer for a bookkeeping degree and on to starting a successful new business, North Fork Bookkeeping. At the same time she and her husband owned and operated the Chakok Valley Getaway, a snow machine and ATV tour business, and the Tire Barn Auto Repair Shop.
Glenna leaves behind her husband, Pat Grady; stepdaughter Maylynda Grady; grandchildren Reannan and Tylor Grady of Glennallen; sister Donna Wells Carver; brother Ron Wells of Wash.; and countless friends and co-workers from the years she spent befriending the world.
Glennie loved her Alaska lifestyle complete with greenhouses and large summer gardens, fishing, clam digging, moose hunting, snow machines, four wheelers, motorcycles and everything in between.
Her beaming smile and loving heart will be missed by all.
A memorial potluck is planned for 2 p.m. April 28 on Bishop’s Beach. Please bring a helium-filled balloon.
