“By the end of the day we felt almost guilty for how easily it happened,” Coke said. “Somehow we tapped into something that resonates with listeners. I think what we did sounded good. At least people responded favorably.”
The fund drive began on the air at 6:30 a.m., keeping three phone lines and the station’s Web site busy throughout the day.
“I am honestly impressed with this town and the way they love public radio,” Coke said. “I’ve ever seen anything like this.”
