Community Schools

Mommy and Me: Bring your baby to an afternoon of basic yoga and stretching. Baby books, music and infant playtime encouraged while moms stretch, socialize and get ready for an active summer. Prenatal and postnatal yoga DVDs will be used; ideas for fitting exercise with baby will be shared. Meet other moms. Lead by Emilie Springer. Pilates: This method of exercise will strengthen your core muscles, stretch and strengthen the body to keep it in balance and alignment. It may be able to treat or avoid lower back and neck pain. Learn basic Pilates mat skills, breathing, posture and proper exercise technique using the neutral spine. Taught by physical therapist Teresa Olesch. It is meant for all levels and abilities and is safe for most people. Bring a yoga mat or towel. Thursdays, 5-6 p.m., through May 28, Homer High School. HoWL! Homer Wilderness Leadership School: This program is committed to providing outdoor experiential education to young people in Homer, focusing on outdoor leadership and survival.
