Army National Guard Pvt. Stephanie E. Lewis has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training Lewis studied the Army mission, history, tradition, core values and physical fitness and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

She is the daughter of Alfred Lewis of Orem, Utah, and sister of Damara Burnett of Seldovia. Lewis is a 2007 graduate of Susan B. English High School in Seldovia.

Kristen T. Faulkner and William Faulkner have been named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. They maintained at least a 5-point grade point average on a 6-point scale.
