Pet of the Week

JD is an older, neutered, attention-loving cat.

There is some speculation among JD's many fans about what his mysterious initials mean.

He's no kitten, so everyone agrees the letters stand for something symbolic of his wisdom and experience. He's generous of spirit, extremely loving and accepting of all creatures, so his name should express that, as well. One friend suggested John Dylan, after two of JD's favorite musicians, but JD just smiled.

"All you need is love," he purred.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
