Happy sunshine. Spring is in the air. There are weddings being planned. The greenhouse is open. I think I saw a fly. It’s time to get to work outside. We now can start to see what we didn’t do last fall. UFFDA. Where did that come from? We had a little scare this past week, but could it be true that the snow is going away? Hurrah! The kids are counting down the weeks left of school. I am sure the teachers, who have done a great job, are doing the same. Thank you for what you do for our children.

Anchor Point Senior Center

Tonight’s dinner will be a choice of pork steaks and beef or bean burritos and scalloped potatoes. The price for members is $5; for nonmembers, $7.

Anchor Point Library

There are books for everyone. Hours are 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m.-4:30p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. Story time is at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Chapman School

Anyone that has a child entering kindergarten during the next school year and missed the preregistration is asked to come in anytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to register. The Peter Pan performance will be April 26. There will be four shows: 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. The Spring Concert will be May 11.

Anchor Point Disaster Response Group will meet at 5:30 p.m. April 28 at the senior center.

VFW Post 10221

Friday night is Pool Night. This event starts at 8 p.m. Monday night is set aside for dollar tacos. There will be a wedding reception for Ole Girard and Donna Deutsch on Saturday. Congrats, you two. The monthly fish fry is from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. April 30. The next steak night will be May 6. Members and guests are welcome.
