Stained glass by artist Thomas Morphis has been selected in Kachemak Bay Campus facility expansion's 1 percent art project. Morphis will install stained glass panels at the top of the curved exterior windows on the south side of the campus's new addition. Warm tones at the base of he windows will progress upward toward deeper tones. The artwork will be viewed from both the inside and outside of the building. Installation is planned by Aug. 15.
The Performing Arts Society is hosting its third annual cabaret at Kenai Merit Inn at 7:30 p.m. May 6. Melissa Bledsoe Fischer's quartet will be welcomed, and the event will feature a mix of contemporary and jazz classics. There will be a no-host beer and wine bar. Tickets are $40, which includes the show and hors d'oeuvres by Charlotte's, and are available in Soldotna at River City Books, North Country Fair and Sweeney's; and in Kenai at Already Read Books, Charlotte's and Kenai Merrit Inn.
