Police identified the dead man as Jacob Hawley, 23, of Washington state. Next of kin have been notified, said Lt. Randy Rosencrans.
Hawley drowned last Wednesday morning when he fell from a ladder at the fish dock. Homer Fire Chief Bob Painter said Hawley was in the water about 45 minutes before he could be rescued. Emergency Medical Technicians attempted to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Rosencrans said Hawley worked in the fishing industry.
An autopsy is being done, he said, and the exact cause of death or if Hawley's fall contributed to his death has not yet been determined.
