Homer Clean-Up Day will take place on May 5. Trash drop off will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center parking lot. Bags will be available starting April 27 at the chamber, the fire hall and Homer High School. The public is encouraged to start picking up trash the week prior to the drop off. Prizes will be awarded in the categories of Individual Adult, Individual Youth, Group, Top Recyclers, Family, Beach Clean-Up and Judges Choice. There will be a kids' grab bag for all participating children, and refreshments for all. There are hidden prizes in favorite trash picking areas around town. Look for clear, zip-lock bags containing bright pink coupons within a three-mile radius of the chamber. Coupons must be redeemed with a bag of trash at the drop off.
