The city of Seldovia and Seldovia Chamber of Commerce are holding a two-day economic development conference to explore "areas of concern for the residents and communities" on the south side of Kachemak Bay. Principal issues up for discussion include transportation, telecommunications infrastructure, tourism marketing opportunities, manufacturing and processing, and fisheries.

The forum is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the multipurpose room in the community center building in Seldovia.

Tonight at 7 p.m. the hosts plan a dessert potluck, which will feature the Seldovia Village Tribe Native Dancers and a lecture by Father Michael Oleksa on cross-cultural communication.
