Mail-in and attendance prizes for energy credits of between $50 and $500 also will be drawn at the annual meeting. Winners of the 2009 Safety Poster Contest, the 2009 Scholarship Awards and the 2009 Youth Rally Awards also are announced.
HEA members have until 5 p.m. May 6 to return ballots to the HEA office in Homer, and also can cast ballots in person at the start of the annual meeting. Candidates run for one seat each in districts 1, 2 and 3. The most hotly contested race is for District 3 on the lower Kenai Peninsula. Incumbent Don Seelinger is challenged by Stephen "Steve" Franklin, Eugene "Jim" Levine, Peter "Pete" Roberts and Doug Stark.
