Troopers at 10:19 p.m. went to a report of a truck accident with injuries on the Kachemak Selo switchback at the end of East End Road. Troopers allege an 18-year-old Delta Junction man driving a 2007 Chevrolet pickup with at least two passengers went over a steep embankment. Troopers tried to arrest the driver for driving under the influence, but he resisted, fought with a trooper and escaped. The man faces charges of DUI, reckless endangerment, failure to give immediate notice of an accident, fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, fourth-degree escape, tampering with evidence and minor consuming alcohol. The accident caused $10,000 in damages to the truck.

Wildlife troopers issued a summons to a 41-year-old Homer man for using gear with an illegible Alaska Department of Fish and Game number while commercial fishing for snow crab in the Bering Sea.
April 26
Troopers at 5:30 p.m. tried to stop a 45-year-old Nikolaevsk man after seeing him driving on Nikolaevsk Road. Troopers recognized the man and knew he had a revoked license. They allege he sped through the village at over 100 mph and passed children on bicycles. The man abandoned his car and was caught by troopers. During a search of his car, troopers allege they found a methamphetamine pipe. The driver was charged with felony eluding, fourth-degree drug misconduct, three counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving and driving while license revoked.
