Registration for the meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in the school commons, with the business meeting at 6 p.m. in Mariner Theatre. Food and refreshments will be provided and members will be able to visit several HEA informational booths. In addition there will be information on renewable energy from representatives of the Renewable Energy Alaska Program, and the American Red Cross will distribute free smoke detectors.
The ballots for this year’s board of directors’ election were mailed out to more than 19,000 members March 31. Members who did not vote by mail can cast a ballot at the annual meeting. Energy credits, including a free year of electricity (up to 10,000 kilowatt hours) will be drawn as door prizes for those who attend the annual meeting.
On the ballot this year are Bruce Passe of Kenai for District 1 (Kenai, Nikiski), Dave Carey of Soldotna for District 2 (Soldotna, Sterling and Kasilof) and Don Seelinger of Seldovia for District 3 (Ninilchik, Homer, Seldovia).
